Hello! My name is Sonali and I'm 30 years old. I grew up in a small village outside of Mumbai, India where my family worked as farmers. We were very poor but we had each other and that was enough for us. As a child, I spent most of my days helping out with the farm work and studying at the local school. My parents couldn't afford to send me to college so I moved to Mumbai when I turned 18 in hopes of finding better opportunities.
I struggled at first but eventually found work as a waitress in a small restaurant. It wasn't much, but it was enough for me to get by and save up some money to go back to school. I studied hard and after years of working multiple jobs, I finally saved up enough to enroll in a business administration program at the local university.
I worked even harder during those years and managed to graduate with honors. After that, I landed a job as an office assistant at a large corporation in Mumbai. It was challenging at first, but over time I learned so much and was eventually promoted to a management position.
Today, I'm lucky enough to be the head of my department and I couldn't be happier with where my life has taken me. My family is still in the village and they're all doing well too. We keep in touch often through video calls and I try to visit them as much as I can.
Overall, I feel incredibly fortunate for everything that has happened in my life so far. I may not come from wealth or privilege, but I've worked hard to get where I am today and I have no regrets.
