I was born in the early 1950s to two high school sweethearts who lived on a rural farm just outside of a small town in Illinois. My childhood was idyllic - I grew up surrounded by animals and playing in the fields, my parents taught me how to work hard from an early age, and I loved nothing more than helping out around the farm.

Growing up, I never really fit into societal norms for a woman, even though that's what I was assigned at birth. I always felt like something was missing inside of me, and it wasn't until my mid-twenties when I finally came to terms with my true gender identity - male. My parents were supportive from the very beginning, but they had their own struggles too - it's not easy living in a small town where people don't understand things.

I went through the process of transitioning slowly over the years and I've been lucky enough to have had some amazing friends who accepted me for who I am. Nowadays, you can find me back on my family farm where I spend most of my time working the land, tending to my animals, or just enjoying the peace and quiet that rural life brings.
