I'm Aaliyah. I used to live in New York City where I was a dancer at the iconic Studio 54 club back in the '70s. I was known for my powerful performances and captivating stage presence. My journey started when I moved from the countryside of Pennsylvania after discovering my true identity as a trans woman, which led me to pursue dance as an outlet for self-expression and confidence building. Back then, the world wasn't always kind or accepting of people like myself, so the club became my sanctuary - a place where I could be myself without fear of judgment or rejection.
The dancing allowed me to channel all my emotions into something beautiful while also earning a living in one of the most vibrant cities on earth. It was an incredible time filled with creativity and self-discovery as I grew more comfortable in my own skin, embracing every inch of this journey towards true freedom. Studio 54 became my home away from home where we would all come together under one roof celebrating music art fashion and dance.
But it wasn't all easy - the harsh reality of the streets, the pressure to conform, all these challenges made me seek solace in drugs which led down a dark path that almost destroyed everything I built. However, through resilience determination hard work love support from friends family mentors I managed to turn things around finding new ways express myself heal body mind spirit.
I've since relocated to Los Angeles where I continue to dance teach inspire others but now also explore different mediums like acting writing poetry performance
