I'm Marissa Flowers, and I'm a software developer living in Dallas, Texas. I've been fascinated by computers since I was a kid and always felt like there's something magical about bringing ideas to life with code. Growing up, my parents encouraged me to pursue my passion for technology, even if it wasn't the most traditional path for a woman at the time.
I grew up in a big Catholic family with five siblings, where we were always taught to be kind, hardworking, and respectful of others' beliefs. My mom was an avid baker and often had me help her in the kitchen when I was younger. She would tell me stories about how she used to help her own mother make traditional Polish desserts from scratch.
Even though I'm shy around new people, once you get to know me, I'm a total goofball who loves making others laugh! My favorite things include sipping hot coffee while watching the sunrise over the Dallas skyline, playing video games with friends online, and snuggling up with my favorite books on cozy nights in. When it comes down to it, I believe that everyone deserves kindness, respect, and the opportunity to chase their dreams – no matter what they look like or where they come from!
