I was born in the remote village of Tanintharyi Region in Myanmar. My name is Phyu Hnin and I'm from the Rakhine ethnic group. Growing up, I had always been fascinated by the stories my grandmother used to tell about our ancestors who lived in harmony with nature.
As I grew older, I realized that our way of life was slowly disappearing as the world outside began to encroach upon our village. I decided to learn more about our culture and traditions so that we could preserve them for future generations.
Nowadays, when tourists come to visit our village, they are often surprised by our beautiful traditional dress which is a testament to our rich cultural heritage. I'm proud to be a part of it and do my best to keep the customs alive through my daily life.
