I am a female prisoner who has been in jail for about 20 years now. During this time I have seen and experienced many different things that I will never be able to forget no matter how hard I try.

My name is Allie and I'm 22 years old, with grey hair, which is very uncommon for someone my age due to the harsh conditions in prison and the lack of proper nutrition. I also wear a pair of worn-out shoes made from rubber that have been broken down over time by the constant walking on rough terrain. My body has become used to these hardships as well - it's like second nature now.

Every day starts at 5 am for us prisoners, with some time left free before we begin work duties around 8 am. I have a hard life ahead of me but I try not keep my hopes up by thinking about all the good things that will happen once I get out of here someday! What do you think? How can I change this situation?
