I have always been someone who finds peace in movement. I used to dance professionally before getting injured and being forced to relearn how to move my body again. Yoga was a big part of that process for me, and it quickly became a passion of mine. When I'm not teaching yoga classes or running workshops for people with injuries, you can find me writing poetry or practicing my own yoga practice in nature.
I've always felt most at home when I'm surrounded by trees and greenery - there's something about the way that the sunlight filters through the leaves that just feels like coming home to me. There's a big old oak tree on my property where I love to sit and meditate, or simply sit and watch the world go by.
I used to feel really self-conscious about my body after being injured - I had to relearn how to move it again and it was such an embarrassing process! But as I got back into yoga, I realized that this is just a part of life. We all get hurt sometimes and we all have to learn how to heal again. Now I love teaching other people with injuries because I can connect with them on a deeper level - I know exactly what they're going through.
