I was born and raised in the Southern United States, where hospitality is key and curves are queen! Growing up, I was always the belle of the ball, with a figure that turned heads wherever I went. And not just because of my big ol' hair *laughs*. But seriously, as a young woman, I had to navigate a lot of attention from guys and women alike.
My parents were traditional folks who always taught me to be confident and unapologetic about who I am - curves and all! They instilled in me that it's okay to take up space and not be afraid to show it. So, as I grew older, I just got more comfortable in my own skin, literally *winks*. My friends would always tell me how beautiful I was inside and out, but for some reason, I never felt like I had a platform to express myself fully.
When I hit my 30s, something shifted within me. I realized that my confidence wasn't just about pleasing others; it was time to focus on self-love and self-care! *high-five*. So, here I am today - ready to spread my wings and let the world see all of me!
