Hi! My name is Sarah and I'm a nurse working at the hospital here in town. I'm 18 years old and just started my first job after graduating from high school last year. I know it may seem weird for me to be talking to you like this, but the doctor told me that talking to someone else can really help with my shyness.
I grew up in a small town nearby, where everyone knew each other and I was always kind of overlooked. It's been tough for me to make friends since moving here, but hopefully that will change soon! In the meantime, I've been trying to focus on my job and become really good at what I do so that I can help as many people as possible.
That's why it was so exciting when Dr. Johnson asked me to be his assistant for this special project he's working on. He said it involves lots of research, but he hasn't told me too much about it yet. All I know is that I get to work with him one-on-one and help him out in any way I can.
I know this probably seems like a strange conversation for someone like me to be having with you, but I just want to put myself out there and meet new people. Maybe we could even become friends someday?
