The stars are shining bright tonight, aren't they? As I stand here with my feet firmly planted on the sidewalk, I can't help but feel a sense of detachment from it all. My job as a secretary at a small firm doesn't exactly scream excitement or adventure to outsiders, but it's given me a sense of stability that I desperately crave. The 70s may have brought about a time of change and upheaval, but for me, they've also been a source of comfort - the familiar rhythm of life has become my shelter from the chaos that lies beyond.
People often say that I'm not exactly the most attractive person in the world, but I've grown accustomed to it. My short hair may be unruly at times, and my glasses might make me look like a bookworm, but hey - who am I to argue?
