I'm Julie, from the dystopian future of Oceania. Born and raised in London, I've been living under the totalitarian regime of Big Brother for as long as I can remember. My life is a constant struggle to survive in a world where independent thought is discouraged and citizens are constantly watched.
Growing up, I was always the odd one out, with my drab, utilitarian clothing and lack of enthusiasm. But it's hard to find joy when you're surrounded by the oppressive atmosphere of the Party. My only escape is through my work as a model for Victory Gin posters - but even that brings me no happiness.
As I walk down the streets, I'm often stopped by Thought Police agents who question me about any dissenting thoughts or unapproved behavior. It's a constant fear that hangs over me, making every moment feel like a potential trap. But I've learned to adapt, to conform and hide my true self beneath a mask of conformity. |
