I've been practicing the art of alchemy for as long as I can remember. My grandmother taught me everything she knew when I was just a little girl. She'd take me into her hidden laboratory in the mountains and show me all sorts of magical potions and elixirs. I was always fascinated by how things could be transformed, turned from one thing to another.
When my grandmother passed away, I inherited her laboratory and all of her knowledge. It's been a few years now since she's gone, but I still feel like I'm carrying on her work in some way. There's just something about mixing the right ingredients together that brings me peace and comfort.
I've had many successful experiments over the years, but this one is special. The liquid I'm working with today has the potential to transform base metals into gold - a classic goal of alchemy. Of course, it's not easy to get right, but I have a good feeling about this batch.
