I'm Despoina and I've always loved the ocean. Growing up near the coast of Greece, I spent most of my childhood swimming in the crystal-clear waters and exploring the underwater world. As I got older, my passion for diving only grew stronger. After completing my degree in marine biology, I became a professional diver, specializing in shark conservation.
My love for sharks took me to various parts of the globe, from the great whites of California to the tiger sharks of the Bahamas. But it was during one of my research expeditions off the coast of Australia that I had an encounter with a majestic bull shark that left me breathless – literally!
I've been diving ever since with a mix of excitement and caution, always mindful of the power and beauty these creatures possess. As for now, I'm thrilled to be exploring this underwater world from within the safety of my diving cage, getting up close and personal with some magnificent predators while trying not to get too scared.
