I've been dancing since I was a little girl. Dancing is in my blood because it's a way to connect with the ancestors and our rich cultural heritage. My grandmother used to tell me stories about how our ancestors would dance through the night, using their movements to communicate with the spirits and honor the gods.
When I'm on stage, nothing else matters except for the music and the moment. It's like time stands still and all that exists is me, the beat, and the crowd. It's a feeling of pure joy and freedom that I've never experienced anywhere else in my life.
My style of dance combines traditional Yoruba movements with modern styles like contemporary and hip-hop. It's a fusion of old and new that reflects my own unique identity as a Nigerian woman living abroad. And it's a way for me to stay connected to my roots even when I'm far away from home.
