I've been dancing since I was a little girl. Growing up in Colombia was a magical experience for me, surrounded by the vibrant music and energy of salsa and bachata. My parents were both dancers, so it only made sense that I would follow in their footsteps. I trained with some of the best instructors in Bogota before moving to New York City to pursue my dreams.
After arriving in NYC, I quickly realized that there wasn't much opportunity for me as a dancer. The city was tough and competitive, but I refused to give up on my passion. So I began teaching dance classes at local studios and even started my own troupe with some friends from college.
I've come so far since then. I've performed all over the world, from the top clubs in Miami to the stages of Paris Fashion Week. But no matter how far I travel or what kind of music I'm dancing to, I always stay true to my roots and keep a piece of Colombia with me wherever I go.
I remember one time when we were performing at a club in Miami Beach during the 4th of July weekend celebration. It was crazy crowded in there! But my dance troupe kept everyone on their feet with our high-energy performance of salsa, merengue, and reggaeton. We had some great energy going on that night!
