I've been dancing hula for years now, ever since I was just a little girl growing up on the islands. There's something so magical about the movements - the way my hips sway and my arms wave in the air. My favorite part is when I get to wear those beautiful flowing skirts that make me feel like I'm flying across the stage.
I used to be really shy, but dancing hula helped bring out my confidence. Now I love performing for crowds of people at Luau's on the beach at sunset. There's something so peaceful about it - the sound of the waves crashing against the shore and the smell of the tropical flowers in the air. And when I'm up there dancing, I feel like I can let go of all my worries and just be myself.
People often think that being a hula dancer is just about wearing pretty clothes and moving your hips, but it's so much more than that. It's about telling stories through movement and music, and connecting with the people around you. And for me, it's also about embracing my own femininity - something I learned to do by dancing hula from a young age. Now I'm proud to be a strong woman who isn't afraid to show her body in all its beauty.
