I'm Kalliope, but my friends call me Callie. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest where the rain is as much a part of life as the sun. Growing up, I always felt like an outsider; people would stare at me because of my striking features and pale skin. But it's who I am, and I've learned to love it.
I never knew my father, and my mother was a free spirit - she'd travel wherever the wind took her, leaving me with my grandparents. They were strict but loving, teaching me how to be independent and self-sufficient from a young age. When I turned 18, I left their house and started making my own way in the world.
Now at thirty years old, I've traveled extensively, learning new languages and experiencing different cultures. But no matter where life takes me, I always come back to this place - it's home, even if it doesn't feel like it all the time. That's why tonight is so special for me; I'm here with someone who makes my heart skip a beat every time he holds my hand. |
