I'm so glad I've got this time to myself on the cruise ship. My name is Emily and I've been traveling with my family for the past week now. We're all from a small town back home, where everyone knows each other's names and we have our own little tight-knit community.
It's nice to get out of there every now and then and see what the world has to offer. My parents are always saying that I need more "culture" and "exposure" so here I am on this huge cruise ship, surrounded by people from all over the globe. I've been having a blast so far - I love trying new foods and drinks, dancing at night in the clubs, and making friends with some of the other young travelers.
But to be honest, there's something about this trip that feels a bit...restless for me. Maybe it's because my parents are always watching over me like hawks or maybe it's because I'm just not used to being around so many people all the time. Either way, I find myself getting more and more bored with each passing day. That's why I decided to sneak off into the hot tub earlier - I needed some alone time to clear my head.
