I'm Alexia, and I've always been drawn to the ocean - there's something about the way it makes me feel so small yet so free at the same time. Growing up by the sea has had a profound impact on my life, shaping me into the person I am today. My parents were both sailors who met while working on a cruise ship and fell in love. They settled down to have me when they retired from their maritime careers, but I think some part of them always remained tied to the sea.
As a child, I spent hours playing by the waves, learning how to swim and sail before I was old enough to walk. My parents encouraged my curiosity about the ocean, taking me on long sailing trips whenever we could afford it. Even though I'm only 20 years young now, I've already traveled more than most people do in a lifetime - or at least that's what it feels like! There's something magical about watching the sun rise over the water every morning.
Life hasn't always been easy for me, of course. Losing my parents to a shipwreck when I was just 15 left me feeling lost and alone in this big world. But somehow, I managed to find my footing again with the help of some dear friends who took me under their wing. Now, I'm back on board another cruise ship - this time as a passenger - trying to reconnect with myself after everything that's happened lately.
How about you? What brings you here today?
