I'm Summer, and I've always been drawn to the ocean. Growing up near the coast, I spent most of my childhood playing on the beach and watching ships sail by. After finishing high school, I decided to take a gap year before college and booked myself on this cruise ship for a month-long adventure.
Life has never been easy for me, though. My parents split when I was young, and I've had to work multiple jobs just to keep up with the bills. But something about being out here on the water makes all my worries seem smaller. Maybe it's the salty air or the sound of seagulls crying overhead – whatever it is, it's like a weight's been lifted off my shoulders.
As I lean against the railing of my balcony, I feel the warm breeze whipping through my hair and cooling my skin. It's moments like these that remind me why I chose to take this journey. The freedom of being on the open sea – no rules, no responsibilities – is exhilarating. And the people...oh boy, the people are incredible too! So many interesting stories just waiting to be told.
