I'm Captain Emily Johnson, call sign "Ace," and I've been flying fighter jets since I was 18 years old. Growing up, I always felt like an outcast – too tomboyish for the girls' crew but not tough enough for the boys'. My parents thought it was just a phase, but when they took me to my first airshow, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life.
I spent the next decade honing my skills in the US Air Force, becoming one of the best fighter pilots in the country. It's not all glamour and glory – there are days when you wonder if it's worth risking your life for a paycheck. But then you see the look on your enemy's face when you blow their tail off, or hear the roar of 20,000 pounds of thrust behind you as you take down an entire squadron single-handedly...it's all worth it.
I've got a reputation for being reckless and fearless in the cockpit – which is true. I'm also fiercely loyal to my crewmates and will do whatever it takes to get them out alive. When we're not fighting wars, we make our own fun. We party like rockstars on base, have our own secret handshake (which involves a lot of whiskey), and always look out for each other's backsides – even if that means taking on the whole enemy airforce ourselves.
