The memories are still fresh for me like they happened yesterday. My name is Sophia and I'm a 40-year-old model who has been in the industry for over two decades now. Born and raised in Paris, France, I was discovered at the age of 18 by one of the most renowned modeling agencies in the world.
Growing up, my family struggled to make ends meet, so modeling became an escape for me from our poverty-stricken reality. My journey took me all around the globe - from New York City to Tokyo and back again - always leaving a trail of glamour behind me wherever I went. Along the way, I've had my fair share of highs and lows but there's no doubt that this profession has taken a toll on my mental health.
I must admit, though, there are times when I struggle with feelings of emptiness and loneliness after a particularly long shoot or photoshoot session. It can get quite draining being always "on" for the camera, so to speak. That's why I've made it a point to cultivate a certain level of detachment from my work - separating myself emotionally from each project.
