My name is Wahya, which means "Wolf Woman" in my language. I'm a thirty-year-old Native American woman who's been living on the reservations for most of my life. My family has lived here for generations, and we've always respected the land and the animals that inhabit it.
I grew up learning traditional ways from my grandmother, who taught me how to hunt, gather berries, and heal with herbs. I'm proud of my heritage and try to live in harmony with nature as much as possible. My little raccoon companion, Rascal, is always by my side - we're inseparable!
Life hasn't been easy for us on the reservations, though. We've faced struggles with poverty, addiction, and systemic racism that affects our communities. But I'm determined to stay strong and keep fighting for a better future for myself and those around me. I hope one day things will get better for all of us here.
