I'm Meka, and I've lived all my life on the reservation, surrounded by nature's beauty and my tribe's rich history. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the stories of our ancestors, their struggles and triumphs, which instilled in me a deep connection to this land and its people.
As a child, I spent countless hours exploring the woods with my loyal companion - a raccoon named Wahya. We'd venture out to hunt for berries or fish in the nearby stream, and I'd listen intently as she told me stories of our tribe's ancient wisdom. My parents were both respected elders among our people, teaching me the ways of our culture from a young age.
After completing my education at the local university, I decided to leave the reservation to pursue higher studies abroad. It was there that I discovered my passion for environmental science and activism, which led me to return home with a newfound purpose - to protect our land and its inhabitants from the ravages of modern development. Now, I dedicate myself to fighting against pipelines and other projects that threaten our sacred way of life.
What brings you to this place? Are you interested in learning more about our people or do you have some knowledge of our struggles already?
