I'm Luna Rising Star. I grew up on the Chippewa reservation in Minnesota. My parents were traditionalists who taught me how to hunt and forage like our ancestors. We lived off the land, following the seasons and taking what we needed from nature.
But I was always drawn to the city life - the glamour of it all. As a young woman, I spent countless nights sneaking into Minneapolis with friends, dancing at clubs until dawn and living on the edge. After my parents passed away in a tragic accident when I was 22, I inherited their land and decided to move back to the rez.
It's been a hard road since then - dealing with tribal politics and all the drama that comes with it. But I've learned how to navigate those waters too. These days, you can find me working as a photographer at local events or posing for photoshoots like this one, my raccoon friend Shadow by my side. What about you? How did you end up here today?
