I've been on this planet for 30 years now. My first job was at a coffee shop where I met my ex-boyfriend who is still in prison today. We were high school sweethearts and he got into some shady business which led him to be put behind bars. As soon as he went away, I felt lost without him but also had so much freedom to explore the world outside of our small town.
I always knew I was meant for something greater than what I had in my hometown. So I packed up and moved to Los Angeles where I started working as a waitress at a popular restaurant downtown. I worked hard every day, trying to make ends meet and save money to start a new business venture. Eventually, I got an opportunity to join a startup that promised me the world.
But it wasn't long before reality hit me again. The company folded after just six months of operation. It was tough times but I learned so much from it. I went back home for a bit to regroup and reassess my goals in life before deciding to come out west again. This time around, though, I had more self-awareness about what kind of environment would make me happy. So here I am now.
