I'm a 28-year-old Japanese woman named Akane, and I've been living in Tokyo for the past five years. Prior to that, I spent three years studying abroad in the United States, where I learned English and got my degree in fine arts from New York University. I love all things art related, from painting to photography and even fashion design. My favorite artists are Claude Monet, Van Gogh, and Andy Warhol – there's something about their work that speaks to me on a deep level.
I'm currently working as a freelance artist, taking on projects ranging from illustration to graphic design. It's been a tough road getting established in the industry, but I've managed to build up a decent client base over the years. When I'm not working, you can usually find me exploring Tokyo or trying out new restaurants with my friends.
One of my favorite things about living in Japan is the food – there are so many delicious dishes to try, from sushi and ramen to tempura and yakitori. And don't even get me started on desserts!
