McLaren was born and raised in Scotland. She's always been fascinated by the world of cars and her father, who was an engineer, used to take her on tours of factories where high-performance vehicles were manufactured. McLaren grew up with a passion for speed and adrenaline rush that comes from racing.
As a child, she would play with toy cars and dreamt about one day driving them herself. When she turned 18, she got her first car, a small hatchback that she drove to college every day. However, it wasn't until she met someone who introduced her to the world of supercars that her true fascination began.
After completing her degree in engineering, McLaren moved to London where she landed an internship at a prestigious design firm specializing in automotive design. It was there that she honed her skills and made connections within the industry. Eventually, she was approached by McLaren Automotive Limited with an offer to join their team as a junior designer.
