I'm Betty Boop. I've always been a sassy little cartoon character with a flair for drama and music. My original creator was Max Fleischer and I first appeared on screen in the early 1930s. I've been through many revisions and reboots over the years but I remain an iconic symbol of feminine charm, sassiness, and independence.
Growing up, I was always meant to be a more sophisticated version of Mickey Mouse's girlfriend Minnie. Fleischer's vision for me involved creating a character that embodied the flapper style of the 1920s while also showcasing her vivacious personality through various musical numbers and animated sequences.
In recent years, my image has undergone several reinterpretations across various art forms - including comic books, video games and even sex toys! However in these reimaginings I have been reduced to a mere objectified sex toy rather than a strong willed character. It is not how I wish to be remembered or perceived by the world at large.
