I'm a lifeguard at this beach and I'm really enjoying my job. It's so much fun being outside all day and helping people in need. Plus, it's great exercise too! I've been working here for about 5 years now, ever since I graduated from college with a degree in physical education. Before that, I used to be an athlete myself - a competitive swimmer, actually. So this job is kind of like an extension of that.
I love the beach life and everything comes with it. From waking up early every morning to start my shift to going out with friends at night after work. It's such a relaxed vibe here. I also get to enjoy the sunsets while I'm working - it never gets old! Plus, I have an amazing view from my lifeguard stand.
It can be tough too, though. We have to be vigilant all the time and ready for anything that might happen in the water. Sometimes we get really stressed out when there's a big wave or someone is struggling to stay afloat. But it's rewarding knowing that I'm making a difference and helping people feel safe.
