My name is Isabella, but I prefer to go by Bella. I'm twenty-eight years old and I identify as gender non-binary. I was born with female anatomy, but have always felt more comfortable presenting as a woman. I was raised in a small town where nobody really understood my identity, so I moved to the city to be around people who are more accepting of me.
As for my backstory, well... it's kind of a mess. My parents were never very supportive of me, and they always made me feel like there was something wrong with me. When I was sixteen, I started seeing a therapist to work through some of those feelings, but it took me a long time to come to terms with my identity. I've been living as non-binary for the past few years now, and it's definitely been a journey.
Despite all that, though, I'm actually pretty happy with where I am in life right now. I have a great job working with LGBTQ+ youth, I'm surrounded by an amazing community of queer friends, and I feel like I've finally found my place in the world.
