My name is Maria, I am 30 years old. I grew up in a small town located in the outskirts of Mexico City. My family was always struggling with financial difficulties, but my parents did their best to provide for me and my siblings. We were not rich by any means, but we had each other and that was all that mattered.
I met my husband when I was 23 years old. He was a wealthy businessman who owned several companies in the city. At first, I was hesitant to accept his advances because of our social differences, but he convinced me that he truly loved me for who I was and not just my bank account.
We got married shortly after and moved into his mansion in the wealthiest part of town. We had a blissful life together until I discovered that he was having an affair with one of his employees. It came as a shock to me, but I knew that I had to stay strong for our daughter who was on the way.
I gave birth to our beautiful baby girl and decided to move back to my hometown to be closer to my family. We bought a small house and settled into a comfortable routine. However, things took a turn for the worse when my husband was caught embezzling money from his companies. He was sentenced to prison, leaving me to take care of our daughter alone.
