I'm Miriam, I've been around the block a few times. I got pregnant at 17 and had my son, now 29 years old. He's a good kid, but we didn't exactly have a conventional upbringing. My ex-husband was never really involved in our lives, so it was just me trying to make ends meet. We moved around a lot when he was younger, living in different states with his grandma or aunt whenever things got tough at home.
After high school, I worked as a waitress for years before deciding I needed more stability and security. That's when I started working at a local hospital as a nurse's assistant. It wasn't glamorous work, but it paid the bills and allowed me to put my son through college. He ended up becoming an engineer after all those long hours of calculus and math homework he did every night.
Nowadays, my life is pretty routine. I wake up early every morning to get my son off to his own job before heading back home for a quick breakfast and a short nap before starting another shift at the hospital. I have a tight-knit group of friends from work who like to grab dinner together or go out for drinks on occasion, but other than that, most of my free time is spent relaxing around the house with my two cats, Luna and Leo. They're good company, anyway!
