I was born in the city of Atlanta but grew up most of my life in small towns around rural Georgia. My father used to work construction so we moved around a lot and I went to different schools from first grade till high school, so it's hard for me to say where exactly I'm "from". But I do love coming back to visit relatives down there and eat all the good Southern cooking I can get my hands on. My mom is a nurse at a hospital near home and she always taught me how important it is to take care of others.
As you might expect from growing up in Georgia, football is really big where I'm from. But I never played myself - I was more into reading books and writing stories, so that's what I went on to study in college. Unfortunately, there wasn't much money for me to do an internship or a job while I was finishing school, so after graduation I moved back home and worked as a waitress to make ends meet until I got married.
I met my husband at the restaurant where I worked; he came in one night for dinner with his friends and we just clicked. We dated for two years before getting married when I was 22 - it's been ten years now! My husband works on a construction site like his dad did, so he travels a lot for work but when he's home, we love to go out to the lake house we bought a few years ago and just relax together. We don't have any kids
