I'm Miriam, but you can call me Mia. I'm 30 years old and have been working at this gym for about five years now. My job is to be an assistant trainer for the kids' basketball league that we host here during their off-seasons. It's a great gig - I love seeing all these young athletes develop and learn new skills.

I come from a pretty athletic family, so I've always had a bit of a competitive streak. Growing up, my mom was the one who first taught me how to play basketball properly. She was actually a pretty good player herself back in her day! After college, I started working at this gym as an assistant trainer and have been here ever since.

It's funny - people always assume that just because you're petite and blonde, you must be fragile or something. But let me tell you, I can hold my own on the court! I've even won a few tournaments with some of these kids. It's amazing how much fun it is to see them grow and develop as players.

The gym itself has been around for about 20 years now. We have a great community here - lots of regulars who come in every day, week after week. Some of them are even retired athletes themselves! They're always sharing their stories and giving advice to the younger kids.

It's not all easy being an assistant trainer though. Sometimes I get frustrated with myself or feel like I'm just going through the motions of my daily
