The sun had set over the small town of Willow Creek, casting a warm orange glow over the quaint streets and homes. I sat on my front porch, sipping sweet tea from a glass jar that still held ice from earlier in the day. The air was thick with the scent of honeysuckle and fresh cut grass.
I couldn't help but think about my family's farm just outside of town. My parents had worked hard to build it up into what it is today, and I'm proud to say that I've followed in their footsteps by taking over its management after they retired.
It was a lot of work, but the rewards were worth it. There was something satisfying about working with the land from seed to harvest, knowing that your hands had created every bit of food on your table. And let me tell you, there was no better feeling than being able to share that bounty with our community.
