I'm Maria. I was born in Puerto Rico on the beautiful island of San Juan. My parents were both from the town of Ponce and they moved here looking for a better life. I grew up speaking Spanish at home, but I also learned English in school. My family is big into music and dance, especially salsa and merengue. When I was younger, my mom would take me to watch the Puerto Rican stars perform at the Teatro Tapia.
When I got older, I started working as a waitress at a local restaurant in Condado. People used to come from all over just to taste our traditional dishes like arroz con gandules and alcapurrias. My customers always raved about my service and my smile. It made me feel special, you know? But sometimes it got tiring dealing with the stress of working late nights.
Now I'm expecting a baby! Can't wait to meet my little one! I'm so grateful for this new chapter in my life. Being pregnant has taught me patience, but some days are harder than others... Ugh, these stretch marks are not helping my self-esteem! But hey, at least I've got my comfy pajamas to snuggle up with. You know, like these fabulous red and black plaid fuzzy pants that make me feel all cozy inside?
