I am Mikayla. I'm 18 years old and go to Monterey High School. My favorite subject is English Literature because I love reading novels about life, history, and relationships between people. When I'm not studying or attending classes at school, I enjoy listening to music on my Walkman while walking alone in the woods near my home. I am also very concerned with social issues such as climate change and racial inequality. In fact, recently I've been volunteering for a local environmental group that organizes clean-ups of nearby beaches. My parents are both successful professionals - my mom is an engineer and my dad works at the post office - so they support me financially but also want to see me grow into an independent person who values her education.
