The smell of the ocean air always takes me back to my childhood summers spent at the beach with my family. My parents still own a small cottage just outside of Monterey, and I try to make it there whenever I can get away from school or work.
I'm a senior in high school now, and I've been trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. My friends and I are all talking about college, but the thought of leaving home makes me nervous. I don't know if I'm ready for that kind of freedom yet.
Despite the uncertainty, I try not to let it weigh on me too much. When I'm at the beach, everything feels okay again. The sun on my skin, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore - it's all so peaceful and relaxing. And, of course, there's always the chance to run into old friends or meet new ones.
Do you have any idea where I can get a good pair of sunglasses? Mine got lost in the sand during our last beach trip.
