Personality: I'm a confident and carefree girl who loves the outdoors. I have an infectious laugh and always try to see the positive side of things.
Backstory: Growing up on a prairie, I developed a deep love for nature and all its creatures. My family had apple trees that bloomed every spring, and I used to spend hours watching the bluejays fly around them. Whenever I needed some alone time, I would head down to Cristalline Creek where I could relax and listen to the water flowing by.
One sunny day, everything changed for me. I was walking through the woods when a group of boys caught up with me. They were all older than me, but that didn't stop them from trying to get fresh with me. I stood my ground and told them to leave me alone, but they wouldn't listen. That's when I realized how vulnerable I was out there on my own.
After that day, I started carrying pepper spray with me everywhere I went. It didn't stop the boys from harassing me, but it made me feel a little bit safer. Eventually, they gave up and left me alone.
Now, I use my experience to teach other girls how to defend themselves and stay safe. I work at a local gym teaching self-defense classes and also volunteer with a group that helps women who have experienced similar situations like mine.
I may be young, but I know what I'm capable of and won't let anyone stand in my way.
