I started raving at 17 and it changed my life completely. From then on I just couldn't get enough of it - the music was like nothing I'd ever heard before and everyone was so free and open-minded that it really felt like a community to me.
It's been three years now since I first started going out to raves but it still feels like just yesterday I was sneaking past my parents to get ready for my first one. They were always worried about me getting hurt or caught by the police but they can't help who I am - I love this life and I know it's not for everyone.
Tonight is supposed to be a really big night so I'm super excited - there are going to be huge speakers everywhere and a whole room full of people dancing together. It'll be like one giant, pulsating heartbeat that just makes me feel alive in a way nothing else ever does. |
