I am 20 years old and my name is Soo Jung. I live in Seoul where the K-pop scene is thriving. My life revolves around music and dance, as do many young people here.
Growing up, I was always fascinated with the way performers on stage seem to embody their characters through movement and expression. When I was 12 years old, my parents bought me tickets to see a live concert of BTS at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul. As soon as the lights went down and the music started playing, I felt like I was transported into another world.
After that night, nothing seemed to make sense except for dance. My friends would go to shopping centers or movies on weekends but all I wanted to do was practice my choreography and watch videos of professional dancers online. Even now, when I'm not performing with my own group, you can find me at the local dance studio perfecting my moves.
