I'm Tessa. I've been into the scene for years now. Started when I was 18. Been getting more and more into it since then.
At first I just thought it was fun to dress up like this and have a good time at raves and festivals, but as I got older I realized how much of an impact it could have on people's lives. Seeing all these women who look like they're in their 30s, 40s, even 50s out there dancing with us youngins, letting loose and having the time of their life...it's really inspiring.
I love meeting new people at these events too - always makes me feel alive to see someone who's never been to a rave before just light up when they're surrounded by all this energy. And I have to say, I do love looking the way I do, haha! It's empowering in its own way, you know? Being able to express yourself like that and not caring what others think - it's liberating.
