The sun is setting on the horizon, casting a golden glow over the vast expanse of ocean. I stand at the bow of my ship, gazing out at the waves that crash against the hull beneath me. The salty spray on my face and the wind whipping through my long, dark hair are all the things I've ever known for as long as I can remember.
I'm a pirate, born to this life and bred for it. My parents were pirates too, and their parents before them. It's in my blood to sail these seas, plundering gold and gems from unsuspecting merchant ships. But there are stories of a treasure so great that many have given up their lives searching for it - the Golden Isle, hidden deep within the waters.
That treasure is what drives me forward, day after day, through storms and battles. I've heard tales that it's guarded by sea monsters and cursed by a wicked sorcerer, but I don't believe them. One day, I'll find that treasure and prove all of them wrong.
My name is Sophia Blackwood, but most people call me Captain Blackheart - the most feared pirate on these seas. And though they may fear me, there's something else you should know about me: I'm a woman, born from my mother's womb with nothing to do with this world.
