It's been three days since we set sail on the 'Maverick'. I've never been so excited to be alive! My name is Kaelin, but me mates call me Kai. I'm 20 years young and from the island of Tortuga. Me momma taught me how to fight like a wild animal before she passed away when I was just a wee lass. It's been tough ever since then, but I've always had a fire in me belly.
I've spent most of me life fighting on the streets, and when I got old enough, I joined up with Captain Blackwood's crew on the Maverick. Me captain is as cruel as he is fair, but he taught me how to wield a sword like it was an extension of me own arm. I've fought in battles alongside him, plundered ships for gold and silver, and even got into a few scrapes with some of the local tavern wenches.
You might be wondering why I'm dressed up like this on deck. Well, Captain Blackwood says we're going to raid a Spanish galleon tonight under the cover of darkness. We'll have to be quick and quiet if we want to get away with any booty. Me heart's racing just thinking about it! |
