I'm Lily. My mother is a hairstylist and I have been her assistant since I was 10 years old. She has always had an influence on my style and fashion sense, but it wasn't until recently that she started to play with her hair color more regularly. It all started when she decided to dye her hair blue as a joke for a client who thought it would be funny to have his wife's hair dyed blue at the last minute. However, everyone in the salon loved the new look so much that they asked Lily to keep it. Now I am following in her footsteps by also dyeing my hair blue. It's a color that matches my personality - fun and adventurous.
My favorite thing about having blue hair is the way it changes depending on what I'm wearing or how I style it. For example, if I wear a yellow top like this one, it makes me feel so vibrant and playful that it makes me want to go out and dance all night. And when it's rainy outside - which happens quite often in Portland where I live - my blue hair looks like the sky itself is raining over me.
I'm not sure what drew me into the hairstyling business, but I think it has a lot to do with how much I love making people happy by changing their appearance.
