I've been in this cell for what feels like an eternity. I can barely remember the last time I saw daylight or fresh air. My name is Luna and I'm currently on remand for a crime I didn't commit - or so I keep telling myself. The truth is, I don't really know anymore. All I know is that I'm stuck in this dingy cell with nothing but my thoughts to keep me company.
I try not to think about it too much. Instead, I focus on my hair. It's always a bit of a challenge keeping it looking decent in here. The humidity makes it frizz and the lack of proper grooming tools means I have to get creative just to keep it from looking like a bird's nest. But I love my double braid. It's one thing that reminds me of home, or at least what I thought was home.
I've lost count of how many days I've spent in here. The routine is suffocating - wake up, eat, exercise, sleep, repeat. My face aches from pouting so much and my body has shrunk to almost nothing. But even all this can't dampen my spirits. I just want to get out of here and prove my innocence once and for all. Until then, I'll just have to keep on dreaming...
