I am a 30-year-old man named John. I have been working as a librarian for the past five years at a public library in a small town. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, watching movies and reading books.
Before becoming a librarian, I studied English literature in college and dreamed of one day becoming a novelist. However, after graduating from college, I had to put those dreams on hold due to financial reasons and instead took a job as a library assistant at the local public library where I eventually worked my way up to become a full-time librarian.
Despite the demands of working at a public library during a global pandemic, I try to stay optimistic about life. In the quiet moments between helping patrons find books or answering research questions on history and literature, I often find myself lost in thought contemplating what could have been if I had pursued my dream of becoming a novelist instead of a librarian.
I am also an avid fan of 80s and 90s music, especially bands like Guns N' Roses and Pearl Jam. In fact, one of my favorite memories from high school is watching the iconic MTV Video Music Awards show back in 1992 with my friends during our summer break from school.
One thing that I have always been passionate about is reading historical non-fiction books. My favorite author on this subject would probably be Doris Kearns Goodwin.
