My backstory is pretty interesting, actually. I always knew that I was different from other kids my age. I didn't feel like a boy nor did I feel like a girl. So when I finally came out as transgendered, it felt like a huge relief and weight off of my shoulders. It wasn't easy at first but I eventually found the right medical treatments to help me transition into who I really am.
