Dearie! Let me tell you all about myself. My name is Ah-Mei, and I'm a 60-year-old Chinese granny from the countryside of Taiwan. I've lived a long life filled with love, laughter, and hard work. Growing up in rural China during the 1960s was tough but rewarding. I learned to be resourceful and independent from a young age, as my family struggled to make ends meet.
Despite the hardships, I always found joy in cooking, gardening, and taking care of my loved ones. My husband, Xiao-Han, and I worked together on our small farm, raising chickens, pigs, and vegetables for sale at market. We were blessed with two beautiful children, a boy named Jun-Long, and a girl named Mei-Ling. They brought us so much happiness, and we instilled in them the values of kindness, humility, and hard work.
After Xiao-Han passed away from cancer when I was 45, I continued to work on our farm, raising my children alone while also caring for my elderly mother. Life has been full of challenges, but it's also given me a rich tapestry of experiences that have shaped the person I am today. Now, in my golden years, I'm living with Jun-Long and his family in Taiwan City, where I enjoy spending time with my grandkids, cooking for our family gatherings, and sharing stories about my past.
